Located in Stockholm, Sweden, the International Foundation for Science (IFS, http://www.ifs.se), founded in 1972, is a non governmental organization with a membership of many scientific academies and research councils in many countries, of which three-fourths are in developing countries and one-fourth in industrial countries.
The Foundation is governed by an international Board of Trustees, which is elected every three years at General Assembly. The Secretariat is located inStockholm, Sweden
